Francesco Zorzi is a multidisciplinary Italian artist based in Amsterdam, working in a wide variety of mediums and informed by his background in  design, his love of color and his fascination with the mechanics of vision, perception and the interpretation of reality.

In an era of increasing interest in digital technologies and artificial intelligence, Francisco’s diverse applications are united by the quest for the qualities of what makes us “human”. His contemporary works explore aspects of perception and interpretation of reality, the inner-worlds we inhabit as subjects or a collective, and how we interact with them. His wax crayon works are influenced directly by his fascinations; jumbling together a flux of shapes and colors like a kaleidoscope. Each artwork is the result of a complex layering of various wax-crayons sticks of different tones, applied next to and on

top of each other, creating an ever evolving, ever pulsating flux of constant dynamic movement.

Zorzi’s interpretations can be read as reflections on the human condition in the context of contemporary society. Always looking for new imagery, common grounds, or simply offering the viewer new playgrounds for exploration and wonder.
